VidMoLyze ("the app") is a video motion-analysis tool designed for physics education. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.
VidMoLyze does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. All video recording, analysis, and data processing happen entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to any third party.
VidMoLyze requests two permissions:
Camera access — used to record videos of motion directly within the app for analysis.
Photo Library access — used only if you choose to select a video you already recorded outside the app (for example, in your device's Camera app). This lets you import that video for tracking and analysis.
These permissions are used solely to let you capture or select video content for your own analysis. VidMoLyze does not access, scan, upload, or share any other content in your photo library, and it does not use this access for any purpose beyond letting you choose or record a video.
VidMoLyze allows you to export the results of your analysis (position, time, velocity, and acceleration data) as a CSV file. This export is generated entirely on your device and is shared using Apple's standard share sheet — meaning you control where the file goes (for example, saving it to Files, emailing it to yourself, or opening it in another app). VidMoLyze does not automatically upload or transmit this data anywhere.
Videos, tracking points, and analysis data are stored locally on your device. VidMoLyze does not use cloud storage, remote servers, or third-party analytics or advertising services.
VidMoLyze may be used by students, including those under 13, typically under the direction of a teacher. Because the app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on any server, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else. All content generated in the app (videos, tracking data, exports) stays on the user's own device unless the user chooses to share it.
